Abstract

Analysis of poems taken from Achictecture of the bones, by the Brazilian poet Age de Carvalho, through the notions of time and its relation with tradition, and body, in its decomposing and degenerative aspects, as pivotal elements of his poetry. The article focuses on the corrosive way his poetry has for dealing with the frailties of existence and its perishing and material condition. The article also discusses the category of the body without organs as a space for resistence against ways of constraint, under the light of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari’s thoughts and in dialogue with Antonin Artaud, in order to discuss how his poetry depicts the city, the memory and the experience of death.
